WHY IS JESUS COMING BACK?

Jesus is coming back. Jesus said He'll be coming back.The angels said That He'll be coming back. Acts 1:10-11
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel, who said, " Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, Who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."
Why is Jesus coming back? we'll examine the scriptures and see what they say. Jesus is coming back for his saints, Jesus is coming back to judge the world, Jesus is coming back to restore His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, Jesus is coming back to judge the dead and living, Jesus is coming back to defeat the devil and his angels.
Jude 14-15 Now Enoch , the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgement on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds, which they have committed in a ungodly way, and all the harsh things which the ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.
Revelation 11:18 " The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great and should destroy those who destroy the earth."
Revelation 20:9-15 They went up on the breath of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Revelation 22:12 " And behold, I am coming quickly and My reward is with Me, to give everyone according to his work.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing; Whether good or evil.
Isiah 2:17 The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; The Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
Isiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; And He will destroy the sinners from it.
Isiah 13:11 " I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible."
Isiah 26:21 For behold , the Lord comes out of His place, to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; The earth will also disclose her blood, and will no more cover her slain.
Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat; And enter into judgement with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.
Zephaniah 3:9 For then I will restore to the people a pure language, that thy all may call on the name of the Lord, to serve Him with one accord.
Matthew 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 25: 31-32 " When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will gather before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.
1 Corinthians 15:22-24 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-8 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember: Romans 12:19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, " Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
Hebrews 10:30 For we knew Him who said, " vengeance is Mine, I will repay, " says the Lord. And again," The Lord will judge His people."

THE DAY OF THE LORD

The last days or end of the days are written in the old testament in different books, It is not written in a sequence but seen sporadically and we have to dig deep to find them. In the old testament in many places written as the Lord's day or day of the Lord.
Isiah 13:6-13 Wail for the day of the LORD is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty. Therefore all hands will be limp, every man's heart will melt, and they will be afraid. Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames. Behold the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it. For the stars of heaven and their constellations, will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.
Daniel 12: 1-4 At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who watch over the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered. Everyone who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake. Some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. " But you, Daniel shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end, many shall run to and from and knowledge shall increase."
Some explanation to understand the passage. Michael is the archangel and he guards over Israel and Jewish people. The book of Daniel was not understood for centuries and now people are understanding it better as it is the time of the end.
Daniel 12:9-12 And he said' go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, made white, and refined. But the wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. And from the time that daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be thousand two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he who waits and comes to one thousand three hundred and thirty days.
Joel 2:1-11 Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound the alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations. A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; The land is like the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; surely nothing shall escape them. Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; and like swift steeds, so they run with a noise like chariots. Over the mountain tops they leap, devours the stubble, like a strong people set in battle array. Before them the people writhe in pain; All faces are drained of color. THey run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of war; every one marches in formation, and they do not break ranks. They do not push one another; Everyone marches in his own column. Though they lung between weapons, they are not cut down. They run to and fro in the city, they run on the wall; They climb into the houses, they enter into the houses, they enter at the windows like a thief. The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; The sun and the moon grow dark and the stars diminish in their brightness. The LORD gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; And strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the LORD is great and terrible and who can endure it?
Joel 2:30-31 And I will show wonders in heaven and in earth; Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
Amos 5:18-20 Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! for what good is the day of the LORD to you? it will be darkness and not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him or as though he went into the house , leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him!
Joel 3:12-16 Let all the nations be wakened and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat. ( Joel 3:1-2)
Zephaniah 1:7 Be silent in the presence of the Lord God; For the day of the LORD is at hand, for the LORD has prepared a sacrifice; He has invited His guests.
Zephaniah 1:14-18 The great day of the LORD is near; it is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the LORD is bitter. The mighty men shall cry out. That day is the day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. A day of trumpet and alarm, against the fortified cities and against high towers." I will bring bring darkness upon men, and they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, and their flesh like refuse." Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy, for He will make speedy riddance of all those who dwell in the land.
Zephaniah 3:8 Therefore wait for Me" says the LORD until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations to My assembly of kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation , all My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured with fire of My jealousy.
Zechariah 12:2-4 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding people, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all people; all who heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all the nations of the earth gather against it. In that day, I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the people with blindness.
Zechariah 12:9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem.
Zechariah 14:1-7 Behold the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst, for I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem. The city shall be taken, their houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half the city will go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of the battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the mount of olives, which faces Jerusalem on the East. And the Mount of Olives will split in to two, from the east to the west, making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south. Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach Azal, yes you shall flee, as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come; and all the saints with You.It shall come to pass in that day there will be no night; The lights will diminish. It shall be one day which is known to the LORD-neither day or night. But at evening time it will happen that it will be light.
Zechariah 14: 12-13 And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths. It shall come to pass in that day,that a great panic from the LORD will be among them. Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor, and raise his hand against his neighbor's hand;
Malachi 3:2 But who can endure the day of His coming? and who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like launderer's soap.
These are the verses that shows us how the day of LORD will be, We will continue to look into the new testament and see how Jesus' coming will be.

People are always interested or scared of the word end of days or last days. Recently Christians are interested more in the second coming of Jesus and End of the World and this interest has grown since the arrival of Corona virus. Christians instead of living a Christ like life regardless of the time of Christ's second coming looking for preachers who talk about the end of the world. Christ warned us to be vigilant, so that we will not be duped by false teachers and Satan.
This is nothing new, even Jesus's disciples were curious and asked Jesus about His coming and End of the World. Matthew 24:3 Later Jesus sat on the Mount of olives. His disciples came to Him privately and said, " Tell us, when will all this happen? what sign will signal your return and end of the world? (NLT)
People are eager to know the exact time of Jesus's coming?
Many false preachers predicted the time , date and year of His coming and led many astray. Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 24:36 " but of that day and hour no one knows , not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.In Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour, you do not expect. Revelation 3:3 Jesus said " Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up. I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. Rev 16:15 " Look , I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed. We should be vigilant to do what Jesus has commanded us to do, so that we will not be surprise by His coming.
Jesus gave us the parable of the virgins to warn us. Matthew 25:1-12 and the parable of faithful servant in Matthew 24:45-51. Even though we cannot know the exact hour, day, time or the day of Jesus's coming, Jesus and The Word of God has given us the signs of His coming. These signs are given to keep us vigilant and live a life that is glorifying to Jesus.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:4-27 the signs of His coming.
1) many will come in His name and claim to be Christ and deceive many.
2) Rumors of wars and nations will rise against nations, and kingdom against Kingdom.
3) Famines
4) pestilences
5) Earthquakes in various places
And these are all only the beginning of sorrows.
6) They will deliver believers for persecution, to be put to death and believers will be hated for Jesus's name.
7) betrayal, hatred
8) lawlessness will grow
9) Love of many will grow cold
10) Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness for the end to come.
Jesus also gave a parable of the Fig tree. Matthew 24:32 " now learn this parable from the fig tree; when its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves , you know that the summer is near. So that you also, when you see all these things, know that is near at the door.
Jesus also said that the end of the days will be like the days of Noah and Lot. How was it in the days of Noah?
Genesis 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every intent of the thoughts of his heart was evil continually.
Genesis 6:11-12 The earth also was corrupt before God , and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all the flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
How was Lot's days?
Genesis 18:20 And the LORD said, " Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is great, and because their sin is very grave.
Genesis 19:4-5 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter surrounded the house. They called to Lot and said to him, " where are the men who came to you
tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally."
Jeremiah 23:14 Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem; They commit adultery and walk in lies; They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom and Gomorrah.
Isaiah 3:8 For Jerusalem stumbled and Judah is fallen, because Tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of His glory, the look on their countenance witnesses against them. And they declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it! For they brought evil upon themselves.
The present days are like the days of Noah and Lot. There is rampant violence, murder, rape, homosexuality, killing of babies in the womb an abomination the Lord hates, another violence called divorce ( Malachi 3:16), adultery, fornication, pride, hatred, unforgiveness, lies and greed. Like Sodom sin is proclaimed on the national and international stage, there are pride marches , our movies and TV shows portray sins as regular normal occurrences and make fun of Jesus and his followers. Evil is being called good and good as evil. Christians are persecuted all over the world for their faith in Jesus's name.
The biggest sign for the end of days is the formation of the nation of Israel. In 1948 nation of Israel was reborn. In 1967 the city of Jerusalem came under Israel's control and became the capital.
In the last days people will be travelling and the knowledge will be increased. Daniel 12:4 " But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
The first air service began in Jan 1st 1914. Since then the air travel has grown far and wide and you can travel from one end of the earth to the other in a day. The development of cars, trains, ships, planes and shuttle to the space evolved quickly within the span of 50 years. The invention of electricity, phones, television, computers, medicine has developed in a short period of time due to increase in the knowledge. The knowledge also caused destruction due to development of weapons.The spiritual condition of the mankind now is like that of Noah and Lot.
2 Timothy 3:1- But know this , that in the last days perilous times will come; for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unforgiving, slanderers, without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, head strong, haughty, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded with sin , led away by various lust, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of truth.
2 Peter 3:3-9 Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying " where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation," For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and earth standing out of the water and in the water by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded by the water. But the heavens and the earth which now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men.
But beloved, do not forget this , that with God one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
1 Thessalonians 4: 14-17 For we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Hi. According to to the the Lord's word, we will you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Thessalonians 5: 1-6 Now brothers and sisters about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people were saying " peace and safety", destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pain on a pregnant women, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of light and children of day. We do not belong to to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
2 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 -8 Don't let anyone deceive you in anyway, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or worshiped, so that he sets himself to be God. Don't you remember that when I was with you, I used to tell you these things?. And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at a proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendor of His coming.
The lawless one is the Antichrist and the one holding him back is the Holy Spirit.( The Holy Spirit resides in the hearts of the Believers)
We as followers of Christ should be able to boldly say the following Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, " Surely I am coming quickly." Amen, even so, come, Lord Jesus!
